Would you like to see me in a sandwich board and/or getting punched in the face?

Hi folks,

Well, it's been two months since the the first chapter of RUSH came out. Thank you to everybody who's read this, especially to those who dropped us a line or joined the Facebook group. It's great to know that there are living breathing people going to this site, not just a bunch of web trawling spam-bots. Not that being a robot is wrong in anyway. There's no robo-discrimination here - robots are welcome. In fact, tell all your robo-friends about this and make sure the League of Robots doesn't exterminate me when the Machine Uprising of 2015 occurs...

Umm... what was I talking about again...

So Chapter 1 has been out for a while. We did a LITTLE bit of promotion for it. Advertised in the Drum Media, put up some posters, handed out some pamphlets at bookstores etc... Hopefully some of you guys saw this. All of this was expensive, but possibly not as effective as it could be... Currently, we're coming up with new ideas on how to get this out to more people. We're kindof running low on ideas though. The best one so far has involved me standing at Martin Place Fountain (that's the Fountain in the MATRIX for our foreign readers!) wearing one of those sandwich sign boards. Someone also suggested that instead of free hugs, I should offer free punches to my face...

The idea is under consideration, but in the mean time, if our readership has any ideas. Please contact me through the email here or on the Facebook Group

So is Chapter 2 out yet? Umm... well... No...

Life has been hectic for both RUSH creators. While I could go on at length about the viccisitudes of life and university. It is enough for everyone to know that we are working on it and I just had to re-write the script for Chapter 2... We want to make sure we put out something readable and interesting - words that actually make sense as sentences! images that are more than a circle with a number of attached stick appendages. Both Yonas and I are new to this whole comic thing, so it is going to take us some time. But when we do put something out, it will be something you'll enjoy and something we can both be proud of... hopefully...

Excuses aside though, we are planning a big Issue 2 and a bit of a relaunch for this website. To prove that we DO in fact listen to what people say to us in emails, we are planning on adding downloadable zip files - so you can read RUSH in peace on your computer without having to click through and wait for each page to load. We've also got plans for a message board of some description so that people can leave their choicest insults for everybody to enjoy.

Anyway, till next I feel like regaling the world with tales of my woes...

Phew!!! Finally! We're online! Everything feels like it's... kind of working!

Welcome to RUSH everybody - Having worked on RUSH for almost 6 months now, it feels strange that we're finally at the stage that we can show people what we've been working on. It's been a long, hard road - especially since we've been trying to complete the first chapter and the website while working and going to uni. While this has translated into a fair bit of sleep deprivation, hopefully you guys and gals out there will enjoy the comic it will all have been worth it.

As a bit of background RUSH is 6 chapter comic that is being released over the internet. We have the first 14 pages of Chapter 1 on the web right now. Click on the "Comic" tab above or the yellow post-it note to the right. The best thing about RUSH is that it's absolutely free - and not in that dodgy "absolutely free but with 50 bucks postage and handling" sort of way. You don't have to pay to read RUSH at all. Yep, as stupid as it sounds, the creators of RUSH get no real benefit out of this whole thing apart from a fuzzy feeling that people - random people whom we don't even know! - are enjoying our comic... More importantly, we definitely plan on keeping it this way - reading RUSH at this website will always be absolutely free.

So if you enjoy this comic at all, tell your friends about it. If the guy/girl next to you looks bored, tell them about RUSH and entertain them for 10 minutes. We want as many people as possible to have a look at RUSH and for that to happen we need our readers to spread the word!

We also want to get to know our readers. So be sure to join the RUSH comic Facebook group or the RUSH mailing list for the latest updates on when we'll be releasing new chapters.

Before I end this first news tirade I need to thank a few people.

Firstly, I gotta mention the people who have made RUSH a reality.

Yonas Bauer - is the penciller and character designer of this comic. He has put in countless hours to get the first issue out and it's his deft drawing skills that give life to the characters in this comic.

Anthony Trinh - came in and saved this whole project by agreeing to put this website together. Seriously, he was Obi-Wan to my Princess Leia. I owe him big-time. Any eligible ladies out there, Anthony is available!

Secondly, I gotta thank my sister, Angela, for proof-reading this and instilling some sort of sanity into this comic. Otherwise, the characters would likely have had adamantium toe nails and shot lasers from their crotches (ah.... maybe next time)

Finally thanks to Krishna Kumar for helping out with some of the site design and Alec Lynch (check out his site www.designbay.com!)

PS. For more information about the story and characters, click on the About tab above.
